Our Democratic system is broken. Our public schools are crumbling, a significant portion of our population cannot afford adequate healthcare, large government agencies appear totally inept, corrupt CEO’s are destroying the image of corporate America, and the gap between the haves and have not’s is widening.
And the reason the system is broken can be traced to one source: MONEY. Our elected politicians no longer serve the people – they serve special interests and lobbyists who contribute to their campaigns.
They spend more time campaigning and raising more money than they do on the job. And when they’re on the job, they’re enacted legislation that the special interests and lobbyists paid for.
Because of this, our citizens have written off the system as corrupt and unchangeable. Voter registration and participation in elections is at an all-time low.
Our mission is to educate people about the problems with our Democracy and encourage the adoption of recommendations that will restore our Democracy to the one that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.
